Not the to-do list. Not the planner. Not the system.
The orientation.
For most adults with ADHD, planning has always lived inside pressure:
*Do more.
*Catch up.
*Be consistent.
*Don't fall behind.
That kind of planning exhausts the nervous system before the day has even started.
Values-led planning asks a completely different question.
Not what do I need to get done.
But how do I want to show up — even on the days that feel messy?
In the Acceptance and Commitment model (ACT), values aren't goals. They're qualities of action:
Courage.
Kindness.
Curiosity.
Contribution.
Integrity.
When planning is anchored here — something shifts in the nervous system.
The pressure reduces. The next step becomes visible.
In practice, it looks like this:
A value like connection becomes: send one message to someone I care about.
A value like growth becomes: read for five minutes before bed.
A value like stability becomes: open the calendar and look at tomorrow — nothing more.
These are not productivity hacks. They are acts of alignment.
